General Information
The 25th Annual Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic will be held on Sat., Oct. 3, 2026, at E. P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park.
The women’s race distances are 5,000 and 6,000 meters, and the men’s race distance is 8,000 meters. Awards will be presented to the top two men’s and women’s teams, and special awards will be given to the top 25 finishers in each race.
Meet Scoring per NCAA Cross Country Memo
Effective Aug. 1, 2018, Division I intercollegiate cross country competition can be used to satisfy sport sponsorship requirements as long as at least one other Division I institution is represented in the event. This replaces the previous two-thirds requirement and eliminates the need for institutions to separate scoring by division.

2026 Entry Process
Priority Entry Registration Period:
Open Date: May 21, 2026
Close Date: Aug. 4, 2026
Coaches who want to guarantee their team’s entry in the meet are strongly encouraged to submit team rosters and payment before Aug. 4, 2026. You may now register your team and pay at Direct Athletics, or by mailing a check to the following address:

Due to high interest in the Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic, registration may close early if event capacity is reached before the Aug. 5 standard entry registration period begins, or at any point before Sept. 25.
Team rosters may be updated until the standard entry deadline of Sept. 25. Any requests to exceed the priority roster limit of 15 athletes must be submitted for approval by Aug. 15 to the meet director, David Lawhorn (lawho9@aol.com).

Standard Entry Registration Period:

The standard entry registration period is ONLY for teams that did not submit rosters and payment during the priority entry period (May 21 through Aug. 4). Registration may close early if event capacity is reached before Sept. 25.
If paying by check, payment must be received by the Louisville Sports Commission office no later than Sept. 25.

Priority Entry Fee
The priority entry fee is $375 per team and $750 for both men and women teams that are registered up to Aug. 4. If mailing a check, payment must be received by the Louisville Sports Commission no later than Aug. 4. Rosters exceeding 15 athletes must receive approval from the meet director via email (lawho9@aol.com).
Standard Entry Fee
The standard entry fee is $450 per team and $900 for both men’s and women’s teams registered between Aug. 5 and Sept. 25. Rosters exceeding seven athletes must request approval from the meet director during the entry process via email (lawho9@aol.com).
